An Introduction to Welfare Benefits

This course introduces you to the basics of Welfare benefits and how the interact. We demonstrate how they can be applied with use of case studies. At the end of this course you should be able to:

• Be able to identify the different categories of benefits available to people

• Signpost individuals to information about a range of benefits, that may apply to their situation

• Identify the range of benefits available to people, based upon their circumstances

• Share our top tips and encourage people to check their benefits when their circumstances change

• Encourage people to challenge benefits decisions they don’t agree with

• Have increased confidence to talk to people about benefits
